Another word for equanimity

Balanced

I also liked quiescent, imperturbable, abiding (especially calm abiding), contented but balanced seems to be best. Are you balanced? Is anyone?

I like all the words you've listed. I've always thought of equanimity as riding the ups and downs of life (our pleasant and unpleasant experiences) with calmness as if you're going up and down on waves, just riding them until the sea gets calm. But I recently read that it can also mean being steady and I thought that was an interesting way to look at equanimity -- the idea that instead of riding up and riding down, you just stay steady.

Steady is good. Sometimes life can be a bit of a maelstrom and it's good to have somewhere steady in the mind to keep us from going under.
